Perfect Spanish Rice Every time!

I know, I know! I’m a skincare brand, why the heck am I blogging a Spanish Rice Recipe? Well because I love this recipe and I had to share it with you! I kind of think of you as my girlfriend? And girlfriends share recipes right?

I’ve heard countless times how hard it is to make Spanish Rice. Don’t fear my dear, this recipe has it perfect every time!


Every. Time.

What you’ll need:

1 cup of rice (feeds 4-6 people)

2 Tbsp. of Butter

2 Tbsp. Sabor de Pollo

1/2 onion, chopped

1 tomato, chopped

1/4 cup cilantro, chopped

1 1/2 cup water, boiling!

In a non-stick pan, melt butter over medium heat.  Add rice and lightly brown.  (Use any vegetable oil to make this Vegan!)

Add onion, tomatoe, cilantro, and sabor de pollo, mix lightly.  Add boiling water until rice is covered in water (it may take a little less or little more than 1 1/2 cup) then cover the rice w/ lid and lower heat.  Simmer for 30 minutes.  *you might want to check it after 20 minutes to ensure the water has not evaporated out and cooking the rice too fast.  If so, turn heat down a little lower and add a little more water.  Dont' mix at all....stick your spoon in and "feel" the bottom to make sure rice is not sticking.

Ways to make it healthier or Vegan.

  1. Use vegetable oil instead of butter and a vegetable boillion instead of chicken or beef

  2. Use brown rice (note brown rice takes a very long time to cook) like 2 hours! but it’s worth it in my opinion

  3. Use cauliflower rice! I’ve done this before and you just omit the boiling water

And if you know someone in your family that doesn’t like cilantro (pobrecito!) you can either omit or if they are like my husband he says the taste isn’t as strong when cooked.
